Archie Monson's World War 2 Journal
This is the World War 2 Journal of Archie Monson. He was only 19 years old when World War 2 began. Archie's enlistment date in the journal is listed as Jan 30th 1942 meaning he was just turning 22. Both Archie and his brother Elmer were in the military. I remember grandpa telling me all about b-29 bombers when I was little. Elmer was a radioman on such an aircraft.
Most of Archie’s time was spent in North Africa and Italy.
When I was young I was interested in World War 2. He wrote me a letter where he outlined his experiences. Ty wrote me a letter saying that is the most that is the longest letter his dad ever wrote. This journal has him documenting his experiences as they were happening.
The journal is broken out into 20 page sections. I did not scan blank pages.
